Remembering The Unforgetable

This fateful event that happened in September 9, 2001, at exactly 8:46 AM, was in fact known to many people as 9/11. As any ordinary day would start, this particular morning was in anyway not like that it was, in fact; a very memorable experience for them. At exactly 8:46 Flight 11 slammed into the North tower of the world trade center. F-16's can travel a maximum speed of 1500 mph. Traveling even at 1250 mph, at least one of the F-16's could have returned to Washington within 10 minutes and started patrolling the skies well before 9:00 A.M.
The men responsible for this fatal tragedy killed exactly 2,976 American citizens. I can imagine how many of these peoples family may have gone through remembering there losses. They will be greatly remembered and lived through by the memories of their families. Mohamed Atta, from Egypt, was the ringleader of the 19 hijackers and one of the pilots.Fifteen of the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, two from the United Arab Emirates, one from Egypt, and one from Lebanon.
A 12 year old little girl called the Pentagon to try and get a hold of her parents because they worked there, the man who answered the phone call could not answer here question because he did not know the status of her parents. The next day he came to work welcomed by a big hug from the little girls parents. This kid was a senior in high school, when his teacher turned on the television to see a bunch of Muslims celebrating the 9 11 attacks. "I am an American Muslim." says the kid "The terrorists who called themselves "Muslims" took responsibility for the attacks and because of that, my life has changed ever since." This student and two other Muslim girls were asked by the principal to go into the library for safety precautions. How can September 11, 2001 not be forgotten? These tragic stories will never be forgotten but is only a small fragment of the thousands out their with their own stories.
American Airlines Flight 11 from Boston to Los Angeles, United Airlines, flight 175 from Boston to Los Angeles, American Airlines Flight 77 from Dulles to Los Angeles, United Airlines Flight 93 from Newark to San Francisco were all hijacked in the 9/11 attacks. Out of all these four planes only three were lost. When this tragic moment in history happened I was only ten years old. I faintly remember the memory of what was happening during this time. All I remember was that i was in the family living room watching television anything after that i really don't remember.
September 9, 2001 is very sad for me to remember, personally i did not have any loss in the event. But i just think of all the people that died and then think of their families. I can barely grasp the events that occurred that fateful day but the think of loosing someone very dear to me is even more horrifying to think. I see this as a opportunity to learn from what happened and continue on with the hope of a better future.
